Our Volunteers

The success of A Center For Grieving Children is due to the many volunteers that are trained to help facilitate groups and make families feel welcome.

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of it for someone else.
Benjamin Franklin

The success of A Center For Grieving Children is due to the many volunteers that are trained to help facilitate groups and make families feel welcome.

Opportunities to volunteer for our Center include the following:

Support Groups

Working with children, teens, and adults in their support groups. An eight hour training program is required for those working directly with families. Volunteers are requested to make a six month commitment in working with their assigned groups.

Program and Office Assistants

Office assistants help in performing various tasks in the office, such as mailings, copying, folding brochures, etc. Typing/word processing skills are desirable but not required.

Program assistants prepare special projects; organize arts and crafts area, organize playrooms; decorate for seasons and special events.

Fundraising Helpers

Assist with fundraising events and help with securing in-kind resources for the Center. We have an annual dinner with entertainment and a silent auction. We also have a yard sale in the summer. Volunteers are needed to help with decorations, securing items for auction and yard sale and to be on committees. There are also other fundraising opportunities throughout the year.
